Picnic & Peonies is a luxury picnic, tablescape, and event styling company in D.C., Virginia, Maryland, and New York. We host pop-up events from 2-300 people, whether it’s at a park or in someone’s home, providing chic and modern designs.
The sky’s the limit! You can have a picnic in public parks, at your home or office, or in a rented space.
If you picnic with us in the DMV, we operate within a 15-mile radius of Washington, D.C. Otherwise, we will have to add travel fees.
If you’d like to picnic with us in NYC, we can picnic in Manhattan or Brooklyn. Otherwise, we will have to add travel fees. If you’d like to picnic with us in the Hamptons, please fill out our contact form.
Please note that we cannot set up on national parkland. You also may need a permit for your event. If you have a question about a picnic location, please do not hesitate to ask.
If you’d like to picnic in a private location, like a winery, you will need written permission from the venue.
We suggest everyone reaches out to us as soon as possible, even if the event date is several months away. We typically book out three-four weeks in advance during peak season, but don’t hesitate to reach out your event date is sooner than that. Also, if you don’t see your date/time available through our online scheduler, please reach out to see if we can accommodate you.
A little weather can’t stop us. We can either move the picnic to an indoor location or we can reschedule it for another date. However, we won’t be able to completely cancel the picnic once booked. We need to know at least 48 hours in advance if you’d like to move the location or date. Also, please note that weather can impact the style and décor of your event. For example, if it’s too windy, we will not be able to provide our white cloth umbrellas.
We offer weather insurance for groups of 6 or less! For an additional $150 at checkout, you can guarantee the rest of your money back if you need to cancel last minute.
We don’t provide food ourselves, but we work with amazing catering partners! Once you book with us, we can share our catering partner’s information.
We certainly can! If you’d like us to travel outside the DMV or NYC, please contact us for more information. However, we typically travel within a 15-mile range for each of our respective locations for picnics and tablescapes. If your picnic or tablescape is a little further out, we will likely charge a travel fee.
Our events start at two hours. You can always add on time for each event, but we ask that you give us at least 48 hour notice. If you’re at the picnic and want to add on more time, please contact your picnic stylist to see if they can accommodate – charges will apply.
If you need to cancel your reservation or booking with at least two weeks (14 days) notice before the scheduled event date, you will be eligible for a refund of 50% of the total amount paid.
Cancellations made with less than two weeks (14 days) notice before the scheduled event date are not eligible for a refund.
By booking with us, you agree to our terms and conditions.
We understand that unforeseen circumstances arise. If you wish to reschedule your event, please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate your new date, subject to availability.
You’ll work one-on-one with our team to come up with the design and decor for your picnic, where you can have as little or as much input as you’d like (within our capabilities).
We have quite a large inventory and can accommodate most themes and color schemes.
Once you book a picnic or tablescape with Picnic & Peonies, we will work with you to design your event, unless you leave it up to us.
On the day of the event, we will arrive to the agreed upon location and set everything up 1 – 2.5 hours in advance.
Unless there are unforeseen circumstances, your event will start at the agreed upon time. If there is any delay, our team will contact you immediately.
We ask that you don’t arrive early to their event, so the experience is fully ready upon your arrival.
